CHARLOTTE (CHARLOTTE SPORTS LIVE) — The NBA has filled in the schedule for the teams eliminated from the Emirates NBA Cup.
There are three groups of five teams in each conference. Only the top team from each group and one wild card per conference advance to the bracket stage. The Hornets went 0-4 in group play with a -33-point differential.
The Hornets are now scheduled to play the Bulls in Chicago on Friday, Dec. 13, and the 76ers in Charlotte on Monday, Dec. 16. On Tuesday, the Hornets lost to Philadelphia 110-104 despite a strong performance from Brandon Miller who had 34 points, 2nd-most he’s scored in a game this season.
Bracket play of the Emirates NBA Cup starts on Tuesday, Dec. 10. In the first round, the Thunder will face the Mavericks, the Rockets will face the Warriors, the Bucks will face the Magic, and the Knicks will face the Hawks. The semifinals (Dec. 14) and finals (Dec. 17) will be played in Las Vegas. Each game impacts the teams’ regular season record except for the finals.
