CHARLOTTE (CHARLOTTE SPORTS LIVE) — Several criminal charges against Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges have been dropped, according to Mecklenburg County court documents.
The charges included a domestic violence protective order violation, misdemeanor child abuse, and injury to personal property.
The documents cite “insufficient evidence” for why the charges were dropped.
A protective order had been granted on Nov. 3, 2022, involving the mother of his children, according to a criminal summons from January 2023, and was violated last May. The latter two charges stem from an alleged incident in October regarding a custody exchange.
Bridges had a hearing for the now-dropped charges on Feb. 20. He still has a hearing on March 28 for permanent child custody and permanent child support.
Despite the team’s poor performance, Bridges is having himself a solid season. Among active players, he leads the Hornets in points per game (21.6), assists per game (3.4), and steals per game (1.1). His points and steals numbers are currently career-highs.
The Hornets, 12-41, face the Hawks at home on Wednesday for their last game before the All-Star break.
