(CHARLOTTE SPORTS LIVE) — Charlotte Hornets wing Brandon Miller was named to the NBA’s Rising Stars Game for the second year in a row.
The game featuring the league’s top first- and second-year players and G-League standouts is part of All-Star Weekend in San Francisco Feb. 14. However, Miller will not actually play in the game since he is out for the year after wrist surgery last week.
Miller, an All-Rookie First Team selection last season, averaged 21.0 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.1 steals in 27 outings this year. He connected on 3.9 3-pointers per game, the fifth-most in the NBA.
He injured his right wrist against Utah Jan. 15 before being declared out for the season a week later.
Last year, Miller played for Team Pau, coached by Hall of Famer Pau Gasol. The then-rookie didn’t score in nearly 11 minutes of playing time, but recorded two rebounds and steals.
