Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney was in rare form during a recent rant on the radio.
During his radio show, he went in on “Tyler from Spartanburg” after Tyler asked Swinney to defend his team’s performance.
South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer knew about the rant and smiled when a reporter joked about another reporter not being at his press conference because he was “in Spartanburg.”
“Even Phil’s not here. I saw Phil was the star of Dabo’s press conference earlier as well,” Beamer said, (first transcribed by Saturday Down South). “Jokes from the top row.”
Well played, Shane.
Clemson is 4-4 this season, which is rare to see under Swinney. The last time Clemson had four losses in one season was in 2011.
There’s a chance that the Tigers finish with more than four losses since they play the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame this Saturday and also play Beamer’s Gamecocks at the end of the season.
