Four-star Overtime Elite point guard Eli Ellis has committed to South Carolina.
The 6-0 point guard out of Moravian Prep (NC) chose the Gamecocks over
Charleston, VCU, Mississippi St., and Virginia Tech.
The 6-foot point guard announced his decision on a live stream with On3 Sports right before his team’s home game against Oak Hill Academy.
“Coach [Lamont] Paris and them believed in me,” Ellis said. “They are in the SEC, big time with Kentucky and all of the guys in there. No one really thought I could play at that level, play in the SEC. Coach Paris and that staff really believed in me and they really have a plan for me to play there. I just really trust them.”
Ellis is currently ranked as the 26th point guard in the class of 2025 by ESPN and will join three-star forward Hayden Assemian in head coach Lamont Paris’ 2025 recruiting class.
The Gamecocks have also earned commitments from class of 2024 three-star forwards Trent Noah and Okku Federiko.
He averaged 13.8 points, 4 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game last season and has started his junior season off hot. Most notably, on November 10th, he hit a buzzer-beating 3 to help his team beat The Burlington School 67-66; he finished with 15 points, 7 assists, and 5 rebounds.
