Kirby Smart has issued a challenge to the Georgia fans who’ll be in attendance for this Saturday’s game against South Carolina.
Smart brought up South Carolina defensive lineman Tonka Hemingway’s comments from SEC Media Days in July. Hemingway didn’t mention Sanford Stadium as one of the loudest venues in the conference.
Smart wants Georgia fans to use Hemingway’s comments as bulletin board material for this weekend’s game.
“What people want to question whether our fans are elite, we’ll find out Saturday, right? It sounds like Tonka called ‘em out,” Smart said, via DawgNation. “Maybe we need to use Tonka for motivation and let him be the one that spurns our group to come out there at 3:30 and be really loud and fired up. I certainly hope our fan base will be. They’ve answered the bell every single time. I don’t know why they wouldn’t now.”
Fans, consider yourselves challenged. https://t.co/8GUSNQk6Qw
