There’s always a little bit of second-hand embarrassment you feel when a player draws an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for a celebration when they’re down double-digits.
That’s exactly what happened this Saturday when South Carolina’s Dylan Stewart set his team back 15 yards and a new set of downs vs. Ole Miss by pretending to gun down Rebels QB Jaxson Dart after sacking him.

It didn’t take long for fans to jump all over him on social media:
“Doing that down by 21 has to be the most brain dead [expletive] I’ve ever seen,” a user commented.
“South Carolina is a shockingly classless team,” another said. “Getting their [expletives] whooped and the chirp after very play. Poorly coached. Classless. That’s ‘organizational.'”
“This was on a 3rd and 15. He got unsportsmanlike penalty and gave ole miss a first down that led to a field goal when they could’ve got the ball back. But hey he emptied the clip,” a fan laughed. “Football IQ out of this world.”
“WTF was he thinking?” another person cried.
“Being a Hurricane fan, I have NEVER been a fan of flagging for celebrations, but there is a line and that is crossed right there….”
“Dylan Stewart flagged after sacking Jaxson Dart and shooting him with his machine gun,” Brad Crawford shared. “Just an absurd taunting celebration. This team.”
It’s obviously not smart football on the part of Shane Beamer’s team. They have about eight minutes to try to make up the 24-point deficit they find themselves in.
