South Carolina women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley had the chance to meet Tom Brady at the 2024 Olympics.
She saw Brady at the beach volleyball competition and when it came time to meet him, she admitted that she made “goat” noises to try and get his attention. She tried yelling “Tom!” to get his attention before trying “TB!” but both didn’t work.
She then tried the goat noises but that didn’t work. She had to get someone to take her to meet Brady and they ended up getting a photo together.
“We flagged somebody down that was in the area and said, ‘We need to, we need to meet Tom.’ So he got us in behind where Tom was,” Staley told Paul Finebaum, (first transcribed by On3). “We took a picture with Tom. Tom has a way of looking in your eye and you know how incredibly beautiful he is. He captures your moment, and he makes you feel like you’re the only person in the world, in his world.”
During their conversation, Brady congratulated Staley on leading South Carolina to an undefeated championship season in women’s basketball. It was another great moment for her while she was helping NBC with its Olympic coverage.
She’s now back in the United States and preparing for the 2024-25 women’s college basketball season.
