Hubert Davis and North Carolina have picked up a second talented guard in the 2025 class. This time, it’s four-star guard Isaiah Denis pledging to the Tar Heels on Saturday.
Denis — the 6-foot-5, 175-pound combo guard from Davidson Day (NC) and the Team CP3 Nike EYBL AAU program — will join Derek Dixon in North Carolina’s 2025 class. This gives the Tar Heels a solid one-two punch at guard for the coming years.
“I chose North Carolina because God was talking to me and he kept showing me signs you don’t see, so I knew this was the spot,” Denis said during his announcement. “And then also coach Davis and his whole coaching staff just showing me why I’m a want and a need there. Just showing me how I fit in… And then staying close to home. I feel like that will be important for me as a freshman, being able to have support around me.”
This summer for Team CP3, Denis was an elite scorer and playmaker. He averaged 16.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists at Peach Jam playing in the PIT. Denis is ranked the No. 47 overall prospect in the 2025 class by 247Sports. He describes himself as a playmaker and shotmaker.
“I’m a two-way player and a great leader,” Denis previously told ZAGSBLOG. “I can play on the ball and off the ball. And I can play defense as well. Playing off ball. Playing perimeter defense. Making open shots. Things of that nature.”
Athletics run in the family as Isaiah’s brother, Jaidyn Denis, plays cornerback at Memphis. Their cousin is Isaac Likekele, who played four years at Oklahoma State before transferring to Ohio State for his fifth and final season of college hoops.
