CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WNCN) — Tar Heel fans started the night off on a high note. CBS 17 managed to run into some former UNC football players cheering on the team.
“UNC is coming out on top—enough said,” said Don Chapman.
“I’d love to see them come home with the big W and take it all the way to the final four,” said Beau Corrales.
The Tar Heel fans at Top of the Hill Restaurant and Brewery said they’re cheering for this team no matter what happens. “My roommate is from Alabama, and I am desperate for them to lose and for us to win,” said one UNC student.
Win or lose, fans said it’s going to take more than teamwork.
“I would say consistency is key because sometimes they’re up and down. I am just hoping the shots will fall into the basket,” said UNC Fan.
Fans we talked to said this team is solid no matter what the final score comes out to.
“We have RJ and so many young talented men. I am cheering for them all the way,” said Chapman.
Tar Heel fans said they will forever bleed Carolina blue.
“The culture of this program is amazing. I love everything about the Tar Heels. I am here for life,” said another UNC fan.
