CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WNCN) — The Tar Heels are welcoming a Triangle opponent to Kenan Stadium Saturday evening.
UNC (2-0) is hosting North Carolina Central (1-1) from just up the road in Durham. The game is set to kick off in Chapel Hill at 6 p.m. It will be the first meeting ever between the Tar Heels and the Eagles on the football field.
Following wins at Minnesota and against Charlotte, UNC is 2-0 to start the season for the fifth time in the last six years. The Tar Heels have a favorable schedule this season, with no contests away from Chapel Hill until late October except for a game at Duke on Sept. 28.
The Eagles started this season with a win over Alabama State in the Orange Blossom Classic at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens on Sept. 1, but lost at home last week to Elon.
Next weekend, NCCU hosts NC A&T at O’Kelly-Riddick Stadium, while UNC and James Madison are set to clash in Chapel Hill.
