CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WNCN) — Two teams that are going in opposite directions will face off Saturday in the second-to-last season before the Atlantic Coast Conference regular season ends for men’s basketball.
North Carolina (18-11 overall, 11-6 ACC) will host Miami (6-22, 2-15) early Saturday afternoon at the Smith Center. Tipoff is set for noon.
The Tar Heels have won four games in a row, picking up momentum at the right time to try to earn a bid to the NCAA Tournament. In their most recent win, a 96-85 victory at Florida State Monday night, veteran guards RJ Davis and Seth Trimble led UNC with 20 points and 17 points, respectively.
The Hurricanes, on the other hand, have lost their last four games, including Tuesday night against Duke. Lynn Kidd led Miami with 17 points in the 97-60 defeat.
UNC plays its final away game Tuesday night at Virginia Tech. The Tar Heels end the regular season next weekend in their usual way — against archrival Duke.
