CLEMSON, S.C. (WNCN) — On Saturday, the North Carolina Tar Heels topped Pitt thanks to a jumper by RJ Davis with under a minute left, while the Clemson Tigers knocked off then No. 2 Duke, leading to fans storming the court. Now, the two teams will face each other on very short rest.
UNC (14-10, overall, 7-5 Atlantic Coast Conference) visits No. 23 Clemson (19-5, 11-2) Monday night. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. at Littlejohn Coliseum.
The Tar Heels and the Panthers took it down to the final minute Saturday, with UNC winning 67-66. Davis — who swished what ended up being the winning basket — led Carolina with 18 points. Ven-Allen Lubin and Seth Trimble chipped in 17 points and 15 points, respectively.
After a triple-overtime loss to Georgia Tech last Tuesday, Clemson turned around and held off the Blue Devils 77-71 Saturday at Littlejohn Coliseum. In that game, center Victor Lahkin scored a team-high 22 points, while Ian Schieffelin notched a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
UNC stays on the road for their next game. The Tar Heels are scheduled to play at Syracuse on Saturday evening.
