CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WNCN) — Up until last weekend, it seemed the Tar Heels men’s basketball team was trending in the right direction. But after two recent one-point losses, the team is looking to get back in the win column.
North Carolina (12-8 overall, 5-3 ACC) hosts Boston College (9-10, 1-7) Saturday afternoon. Tipoff at the Smith Center in Chapel Hill is set for 2:15 p.m.
UNC lost 72-71 to Stanford in heartbreaking fashion at home last Saturday, then went to Winston-Salem Tuesday and lost to Wake Forest 67-66. Against the Demon Deacons, RJ Davis led the Tar Heels with 21 points. Elliot Cadeau, the only other UNC player to score in double-digits, added 14 points and also dished out 13 assists.
The Eagles are also coming off multiple losses. Boston College has lost their last five contests, with all but one of those defeats by double-digits. In their last game, a loss at Virginia, Fred Payne came off the bench to lead the Eagles with 17 points.
The Tar Heels will hit the road — the first time they’re leaving the state since playing at Louisville and Notre Dame to start 2025 — for their last game in January. UNC is set to play at Pitt Tuesday night.
