TALLAHASSEE, FL (WNCN) — The Tar Heels are looking to build some momentum off their first Atlantic Coast Conference win — and hopefully help Mack Brown get his first win against Florida State.
North Carolina (4-4 overall, 1-3 ACC) is on the road at FSU (1-7, 1-6) Saturday afternoon. Kickoff at Doak Campbell Stadium is set for 3:30 p.m.
Last week, coming off a bye and emotional time when they lost teammate Tylee Craft, UNC went to Charlottesville and earned their first conference win of the season, a 41-14 victory over Virginia. It snapped a four-game losing streak for the Tar Heels.
The struggling Seminoles currently find themselves in the middle of their own four-game skid. FSU’s only win of the season so far was a low-scoring affair, a 14-9 victory at home over Cal on Sept. 21. Saturday’s game against UNC is the Seminoles’ final ACC game of the year, as FSU played a conference-heavy schedule to start the season.
The Tar Heels have another bye next week, then host Wake Forest on Nov. 16. Following a trip to Boston College the following week, UNC will face NC State in the traditional post-Thanksgiving rivalry game, which this year will be in Chapel Hill.
