SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WNCN) — The Tar Heels are in snowy Syracuse Saturday for a matchup between two teams who have both lost three of their last five games.
North Carolina (14-11 overall, 7-6 Atlantic Coast Conference) and Syracuse (11-14, 5-9) are set to face off at JMA Wireless Dome. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
After a one-point win over Pitt at home last Saturday, UNC had a quick turnaround. They played at Clemson Monday night and lost to a team that was coming off a huge win over Duke. In the Tar Heels 85-65 defeat to the Tigers, RJ Davis led UNC with 18 points. Davis and his fellow starting guards, Seth Trimble and Elliot Cadeau, were the only Carolina players to score in double figures.
The Orange are coming off a 91-84 loss at Miami, the team at the bottom of the ACC standings. J.J. Starling scored 25 points to lead Syracuse, while Eddie Lampkin Jr. notched a double-double with 22 points and 13 rebounds.
The Tar Heels head back home for a rivalry matchup as they’re set to host NC State Wednesday night at the Smith Center.
