GREENSBORO, N.C. (WNCN) — After two wins at home to open the season, the North Carolina women’s basketball team is hitting the road this week
The No. 14 Tar Heels (2-0) visit North Carolina A&T (0-2) Tuesday night. The game is set to tip off at 7 p.m. at Corbett Sports Center in Greensboro.
UNC moved up a spot in the latest AP top 25 rankings after last week’s two wins over Charleston Southern and UNCW. Lexi Donarski is the team’s leading scorer so far this season, averaging 17.5 points. Grad student Alyssa Ustby is averaging 12.5 points and 8.5 rebounds and four assists across the two games.
The Aggies are still in search of their first win of the season after losses on the road at SMU and Rice last week. In NC A&T’s 61-60 loss to Rice, Jordyn Dorsey led the team with 26 points, 11 of which came from the free throw line. Darrionna Howard had a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Tuesday’s meeting will be the fourth overall between the two programs. UNC has won the three previous games, all of which were in Chapel Hill.
The Tar Heels’ next game will also be in Greensboro, but will be a much bigger test. UNC is set to play Paige Bueckers and the No. 2. UConn Huskies Friday night at First Horizon Coliseum.
