RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – After suffering its first defeat of the season last week, the Duke men’s basketball team fell a couple of spots in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll released on Monday.
The Blue Devils, which lost in a 77-72 nailbiter against Kentucky, dropped from No. 6 to No. 12 in the rankings. Meanwhile, the Wildcats made their 2024-25 season debut in the Top 10, rising to the No. 9 spot.
Duke ended up bouncing back from its first loss with an 86-35 win over Wofford on Saturday.
North Carolina, the only other Atlantic Coast Conference program in the Top 25, stayed put at No. 10 after a dominant 107-55 victory over American on Friday night.
Kansas continues to sit atop the AP rankings, followed by UConn, Gonzaga, Auburn and Iowa State, while Purdue, Houston and Alabama filled out the remainder of the Top 10 at the 6-8 spots.
