It’s been a long journey to the majors for Will Wilson, who has toiled in the minors for six years (474 games’ worth of toiling) and for three different MLB franchises since being taken by the Angels in the first round of the 2019 draft.
Yesterday the Mayor of Kings Mountain made his debut for Cleveland. He also notched his first major-league hit.

Carlos Rodon started this game for the Yankees, but Wilson waited until New York went into its bullpen before deciding to get a hit. Wasn’t that nice of him? Very respectful.
Wilson hit .324/.418/.647 in 18 games for Cleveland’s AAA team to earn the call-up.
