It’s done.
McNeese was eliminated from the NCAA tournament this afternoon (thank you, Purdue), allowing all of us to exhale and fully turn our attention to the new era of NC State basketball. Will Wade’s deal with NC State is done, per Jon Rothstein.
Sources: Will Wade has signed a six-year deal to be the next head coach at NC State.

An official announcement should be coming in the next few days. It’s really happening!

Not only did this coaching search go about as well as possible, but media members are actually … complimentary of NC State and this move? What a time to be alive.
“[Will Wade] does not care. He’s got Duke over here. He’s got Carolina over here. And he don’t give a blank.”@SethOnHoops on why he believes Will Wade will have success at NC State. pic.twitter.com/NBC18btz26

“NC State is one of the best jobs in the country. That guy can flat out coach. The ACC better watch out because Will Wade is coming.”

You the man, Charles.
The weekend worked out well all around. Will Wade and McNeese’s players got to enjoy making some history Thursday—the school had never won a tourney game before—and State fans don’t have to spend a week in limbo. Incidentally, the spring transfer portal window opens on Monday, so it’s helpful not to have Wade otherwise occupied this week.
Can’t wait to get this new era rolling.
