ACC basketball media days are underway in Charlotte this week, which means we have fresh Wes Moore content.
THE MODERATOR: Ladies, give me a teammate who right now maybe your fans don’t know much about, but based on what she’s shown so far in practice you think she’s going to make a major impact for you guys this season.
SANIYA RIVERS: I feel like everyone knows Zam, so I’m going to go Tilda. She’s from Sweden. She’s so sweet on and off the court, so we have to get her — yeah, she’s sweet on the court. We have to get her —
WES MOORE: We need to get her unsweet on the court.

Not that Wes Moore ever has trouble lightening the mood, but if he’s feeling a little extra upbeat these days, he’s got plenty of reason for it. His team is going to be interesting in a fun way, loaded as it is at guard, with pretty much all the question marks in the frontcourt.
Moore talked about guard-heavy lineups being a strong possibility, and he will have tons of options. Saniya Rivers, Aziaha James, Zoe Brooks, and Madison Hayes will feature heavily; Laci Steele is back as well; and the team is adding top-25 recruit Zamareya Jones, who is a bucket.
Up front, State is looking for second-year improvements from Maddie Cox and Mallory Collier, and the aforementioned Tilda Trygger should bring some scoring punch. State picked up Caitlin Weimar from Boston University, and she may end up the most important big on the roster. Unfortunately, she is dealing with an unspecified injury that may keep her off the court in the early portion of the season.
Whole lot to like here, though.
