NC State quarterback Grayson McCall was carted off the field moments ago in a frightening scene.
With the Wolfpack trailing Wake Forest 3-0 in the first quarter in Raleigh, McCall attempted to scramble for a first down on 3rd-and-11. He was stopped short and took a massive hit from multiple Demon Deacon defenders. In the process, McCall’s helmet came flying off and he fumbled.

McCall remained down on the field and was attended to by trainers and medical staffers. Eventually, he was immobilized and placed on a cart.
The good news is that McCall was alert and could be seen moving and waving his arms as he was taken away.
Hopefully, him being stretchered off was more precautionary than anything.
McCall, who is in his first season at NCSU after five years at Coastal Carolina, completed 3-of-5 passes for 42 yards and had one carry for nine yards before getting injured. He’s been replaced in the lineup by backup by CJ Bailey.
Wake Forest currently leads 10-3 in the second quarter, thanks to a three-yard touchdown pass from Hank Bachmeier to Demond Claiborne. The Demon Deacons (1-3 overall) and Wolfpack (3-2 overall) are each looking for their first win in ACC play.
You can catch the rest of the game on The CW. Hopefully, NC State has some positive news to share about McCall soon.
