Week 10 was a 3-4 performance for the dungeon, and sadly Florida State could not in fact pull off something very funny. Although, the depth of FSU’s awfulness is itself extremely amusing.
How do I feel about NC State at -3 against Duke? Not confident enough to bet it, as I’m just not sure how instructive that Stanford game was. Might change my mind at the last minute. Probably will change my mind at the last minute.
Obligatory Bet Against UNC Of The Week
UNC is on bye again, but rest assured that Mack Brown is hard at work figuring out how to lose to Wake Forest next weekend. Gonna miss that guy.
Around The Country
Iowa -6.5 vs. UCLA: I don’t see UCLA scoring very many points, and it ain’t like Iowa has to worry about the road environment, even in a night game. There will probably be like 20,000 Iowa fans there, anyway. The Hawkeyes should put the Bruins back on the strugglebus.
Fresno State -9.5 vs. Air Force: Air Force covered against Army last week thanks to Army playing without its starting quarterback. This week, we’ve got a bit of a tester, as Fresno ain’t real good. But are we deterred? We are not deterred. Air Force did only manage three points in that Army game, after all. My beloved Falcons are going to come through for me, I can feel it.
Clemson -6.5 vs. Virginia Tech: Decent chance this one ends up looking foolish, but with both Kyron Drones and Bhayshul Tuten questionable, I’m taking the flier on the Tigers. I’d imagine Hokies backup QB Collin Schlee will struggle if he has to play, and speaking of Collin Schlee, I’ve been saying “Mr. Schlee” in my best Dustin-Hoffman-as-Captain-Hook voice all week. To the line of scrimmage, Mr. Schlee!
UConn -7 vs. UAB: Can’t say I thought I’d be betting ON UConn as a favorite at any point in 2024, but the Huskies have put together a quietly respectable season, while UAB is a poorly-coached dumpster fire. Who could have guessed that hiring a former NFL player with zero college coaching experience would be a bad idea?
South Carolina vs. Vanderbilt +5.5: Vanderbilt has been a really tough out this season and has just one home loss, by three points to Texas, so while the Gamecocks appear to be trending up, give the me the ‘Dores to at least hang close.
