Well jostle my internal organs and crack my vertebrae, she’s done it again, folks. NC State alumnus Abby Lampe proved once again Monday that there is no one better at flinging themselves down a steep hill in pursuit of a large wheel of cheese.
To win this race you need toughness, grit, determination, and an ability to stay focused despite a disoriented pancreas. You can tell that the experience from her 2022 championship made a difference here, as look at the jump she gets on the competition.
US woman Abby Lampe WINS Women’s Cheese Rolling race for a second time. Abby, from North Carolina, rolled to victory in the wacky annual event held on Cooper’s Hill in Gloucestershire today (May 27). She also took the title in 2022. #Cheeserolling #cheeseroll @abby_lampe pic.twitter.com/WRn2ydxw6x

The result is a commanding lead heading into the treacherous kidney-popping portion of the hill, but she keeps her foot on the gas as her shoulders scream for mercy.
This is what peak athletic performance looks like, and neither the hill nor the competition proved a worthwhile match. This is definitely an effort worthy of a large wheel of cheese, and she once again has the foundation for a charcuterie board that will be the envy of snackers everywhere.
