NC State will be in San Diego over Thanksgiving weekend along with Purdue, Mississippi, and BYU for the second-annual Rady Children’s Invitational, and Jon Rothstein reported earlier today that NCSU-Purdue and Mississippi-BYU will be the initial matchups. So the Final Four rematch is on.
I was hoping this would happen, not only for the revenge opportunity but also because Purdue will probably end up the biggest boost to the non-conference resume among the other teams there. And State will play either Ole Miss or BYU the following night as well.
We’re still waiting on the full non-conference schedule from the men’s team, but the bulk of it is known:
NC State’s non-conference slate is coming together. Here’s what we know:
11/4 – vs. USC Upstate
11/13 – vs. Coastal Carolina
11/22 – vs. William & Mary
11/28 – vs. Purdue (San Diego)
11/29 – vs. BYU or Ole Miss (San Diego)
12/4 – vs. Texas (ACC/SEC Challenge)
12/14 – at Kansas pic.twitter.com/LMiXZv6Eps— Noah Fleischman (@fleischman_noah) July 29, 2024
Four games against power-conference opponents is plenty, so I’d expect the rest to be buy games set for PNC Arena. Should be one or two more warmups in there before the Purdue game, but the Pack’s going to have to find its footing pretty quickly.
