RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A week after being ranked No. 21 in the preseason USA Today Coaches Poll, the North Carolina State Wolfpack football team is also ranked in the AP’s preseason Top 25.
NC State is No. 24 in the AP’s first Top 25 poll of the 2024 season, down three spots from where they ended last season.
The Wolfpack is the only Triangle team in the rankings, but not the only Atlantic Coast Conference team. Florida State, which went undefeated last season, is the highest-ranked ACC team at No. 10. Clemson follows at No. 14 and Miami at No. 19.
Topping the preseason rankings is Georgia, followed by Ohio State and Oregon. Texas and Alabama round out the all Southeastern Conference and Big Ten Conference top five.
NC State begins the 2024 football season on August 29 against Western Carolina.
