Chazz Wallace was the second portal player to commit to NC State on Wednesday, and his addition puts an end to State’s search for a reserve nose tackle to spell Brandon Cleveland in the fall.

It’s a move to a much, uh, quieter environment for Wallace after spending a year in Deion Sanders’ circus. Wallace is from Maryland and began his college career at Old Dominion, so this marks a return closer to home as well.
In two seasons with ODU, he tallied 45 tackles, including 3.0 TFL, and appeared in 23 games. He made four starts for Colorado and played in 10 games in 2023, finishing the season with 11 tackles, including 1.5 for loss.
While NC State isn’t likely to rely heavily on Wallace in the fall, he fills an important role—and bringing in someone with multiple years of experience is always a plus.
He’s listed at 6’2 and 295 pounds.
