It wasn’t the prettiest effort of the season for NC State but it was good enough, which is all that matters.
The Pack had a fight on its hands from the start, and Georgia Tech had the better of the early stages. Zoe Brooks and Aziaha James got off to slow starts but came around when it counted.
And Zam Jones provided much-needed offense in the meantime. She also knocked down a huge three late in the fourth to break a tie.
The last minute was nervy, but James carried the team through, and Tech thankfully did not even get a shot off on the game’s final possession.
State didn’t get much from the perimeter in this one, but shot 50% inside the arc. James was 6-13 on twos and Tilda Trygger was 6-11 to lead the way. Trygger fueled a big third quarter stretch with three straight buckets to erase a six-point deficit.
Let’s hope the outside shooting is a bit better tomorrow, because we got some revengin’ to do.
