The circumstances ahead of a trip to Death Valley could be just slightly better for NC State, with the injury bug hitting at an unfortunate time. The Wolfpack spent most of Saturday without its starting quarterback and starting corners and might be without all three again.
The Pack is getting 17.5 points in the Clemson matchup as of Monday morning, and unfortunately, that doesn’t feel excessive. The Tigers have a loaded defense, as usual, and their offense was impressive in their romp over App State in Week 2. They’re also coming off a bye. Not good!
On the plus side, it’s a day game, so the crowd will be slightly tamer, but to have a chance, State is going to have to find a way to score some points early. The Wolfpack definitely isn’t getting away with another first half like the one it had against Louisiana Tech.
It’s a tough ask, especially if CJ Bailey is forced into his first career start here.
