NC State’s season-opening win at UConn was marred by Rakeim Ashford being taken to the hospital with an injury after taking a big hit on a cheap shot.
Ashford had to be taken off the field on a stretcher after a hit from a UConn player left him on the ground for several minutes. Fortunately, the latest news this morning is very promising.
In a statement, NC State Football announced that testing on Ashford was normal and he will be discharged from Hartford Hospital in Connecticut later today.
“Great news on Rakeim Ashford. Testing was normal and he will be discharged from Hartford Hospital and travel home later today,” the team said on X.
Wolfpack fans were thrilled to hear that Ashford is okay.
