NC State returns to the field for a classic ACC football Thursday night matchup with Georgia Tech—well, back when regular ACC Thursday night games were a thing. The Yellow Jackets are a two-score favorite.
I’ve been dreading this game for a while, mostly since it became clear that Tech’s offensive line is quite good. Tech ran for 271 yards in its upset win over Miami on Nov. 9, which also coincided with the return of quarterback Haynes King, who’d missed the two games prior with a shoulder injury.
The shoulder seemed to limit his passing ability in that game, but I don’t know that we should expect that to still be a potential issue. Or that it would matter anyway. The Yellow Jackets have run for 200+ in three league games, and piled up 371 against UNC, so they don’t necessarily need the forward pass.
Gonna be a tough one as far as that goes. Need some of this mojo from the 2005 game.
