Oy.
I had planned on going to NC State’s game at Cal, but as it became clear that the team values neither my time nor my money, I opted against it. (And just as well given the whole gigantic natural disaster thing that I’m currently living through.)
What looked in the preseason like a probable win now appears to be the opposite, and NC State will head west a two-score underdog. I’ll tell you what, though. Ten points is a lot of points. Now, granted, NC State is one of four FBS teams that has yet to cover a spread this season (UNC is another), but this time? This time might be the time.
This is a summary of my thought process as I placed money on the Wolfpack yesterday (at 10.5):
Cal has lost three straight games—by a total of eight points—and while its offense has had problems, its defense has been good. The pass defense, especially: the Bears have intercepted at least one pass in all six of their games and have 13 total. Maybe I’ll hit the under on this game as well.
