NC State’s offseason is going to begin sooner than anyone would like, but at least it’s getting off to a positive start. Marcus Hill said yesterday that he plans on being back at NC State next season, taking advantage of the extra year afforded him by the NCAA’s recent JUCO ruling.
Hill was pretty much as advertised this season and showed that he could be a solid contributor at the high-major level. In league play, he’s shooting 47% on twos, nearly 84% at the free throw line, and has the lowest turnover rate among eligible players.
If State can find a proper go-to guy in the portal, Hill can be an excellent secondary option, which is where he should slot into a roster that’s actually well-constructed. Perhaps Kevin Keatts could look into this in the coming months. Could even start as soon as Saturday, if he wants.
Anyway, happy to have Marcus back.
