RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A night after the NC State men’s basketball team raised a couple of banners in the rafters at the Lenovo Center, the women’s team will raise one of their own at Reynolds Coliseum.
The No. 9 Wolfpack (0-0) will host East Tennessee State University (0-0) Tuesday night. Tip off is set for 7 p.m. in Raleigh.
Before the game, the team will unveil the Final Four banner the team earned last year during their NCAA Tournament run to the last weekend of the postseason.
Two of that squad’s leaders, Aziaha James and Saniya Rivers, are back and hoping for an even better result this year. The backcourt duo is considered one of the best in the country, with both named to the Atlantic Coast Conference preseason team.
The Buccaneers, who play in the Southern Conference, have faced the Wolfpack two previous times. NC State has won both games over ETSU, holding a 2-0 record in the all-time series so far.
The Wolfpack’s next game will be the biggest challenge of the season — a matchup against defending champions No. 1 South Carolina. The neutral site game will be played at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte on Sunday afternoon.
