RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — The North Carolina State women’s basketball team is looking to make a run to nab the top spot in the Atlantic Coast Conference standings.
The No. 21 Wolfpack (13-4 overall, 5-1 ACC) hosts Virginia (11-7. 3-3) Sunday afternoon. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. at Reynolds Coliseum.
NC State is currently a game behind league-leading Notre Dame, the No. 3 team in the country, and half a game behind Louisville in the ACC standings. The Wolfpack have the same conference record as rival Duke, but a recent loss to the Blue Devils gave the Durham team the tiebreaker.
The Wolfpack won their last game, an 83-67 victory over Pitt at home on Thursday night. Standout senior guard Aziaha James led the team with 22 points.
The Cavaliers are fresh off a win at rival Virginia Tech. Latasha Lattimore scored 24 points to lead Virginia in the 73-65 win Thursday night.
Next up is a trip to upstate New York for the Wolfpack. NC State is scheduled to play at Syracuse on Thursday night.
