RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — The North Carolina State women’s basketball team is one win away from advancing to the Sweet 16 of the 2025 NCAA Tournament, and they’ll have a chance to get that victory in their final game at Reynolds Coliseum this season.
The No. 2 Wolfpack (27-6) faces No. 7 Michigan State (22-9) in a second round game in Spokane Regional 1 Monday afternoon. Tipoff is set for 12 p.m. in Raleigh.
NC State is coming off a 75-55 win over No. 15 Vermont in a first round game on Saturday afternoon. Zoe Brooks led the Wolfpack with 19 points in the win, while Saniya Rivers recorded a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Fellow guard Aziaha James also scored 15 points, while Madison Hayes also pulled down 12 rebounds in the balanced NC State offense.
The Spartans defeated No. 10 Harvard in their first round game on Saturday. Grace VanSlooten had a double-double to lead Michigan State, scoring 17 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Jocelyn Tate also added 13 points in the Spartans’ 64-50 win.
The winner of Monday afternoon’s game will move on to the Sweet 16 in Spokane, Wa. later this week. Their opponent will be the winner of Monday night’s game between No. 3 LSU and No. 6 Florida State.
