RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — NC State women’s basketball is hoping some home cooking can help them bounce back from a loss to No. 1 South Carolina over the weekend.
The No. 13 Wolfpack (1-1) host the Kent State Golden Flashes (1-1) on Thursday night. Tipoff at Reynolds Coliseum is scheduled for 7 p.m.
Despite coming up short to the top team in the country, NC State remains ranked in the latest AP top 25 poll, dropping to No. 13. So far this season, the Wolfpack are led in scoring by Zoe Brooks’ 16 points per game. Aziaha James is also averaging 15 points per game, while Saniya Rivers leads the Pack on the boards with 7 rebounds per contest.
Kent State lost their season opener to James Madison but easily won their last game against Walsh. Riley Rismiller leads the Golden Flashes with 17 points and 6.5 rebounds per game so far.
This is the third time the NC State and Kent State women’s basketball teams will meet, and the first since 2018. The Wolfpack hold a 2-0 series lead.
NC State hits the road for their next game, a matchup at TCU on Sunday.
