STANFORD, Calif. (WNCN) — The Wolfpack are looking to wrap up their West Coast swing with a win, but they’ll have to do it against a team that has one of the best players in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
NC State (9-13 overall, 2-9 ACC) visits the Stanford Cardinal (15-8, 7-5) Saturday in northern California. Tipoff at Maples Pavilion is set for 7 p.m. Eastern time.
The Wolfpack have had a rough time during the conference portion of their season and are currently on a seven-game losing streak. Their 74-62 loss at Cal on Wednesday night gave the Golden Bears a season sweep over NC State. In that game, Marcus Hill scored 20 points and pulled down eight rebounds for the Pack, but no other NC state player scored more than nine.
Meanwhile, Stanford, had been playing well, going 6-3 in January. But they’ve already lost the two games they’ve played in February so far. In their 79-73 loss to Wake Forest on Wednesday night, Maxime Reynaud — the Cardinal’s 7’1″ star who’s averaging over 20 points and nearly 12 rebounds per game this season — led the team with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
NC State will head back home for their next game, but their schedule doesn’t get any easier. They’re set to host Louisville on Wednesday night in Raleigh.
