RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Amid the snow and ice outside, a rivalry game will be heating up Raleigh’s Lenovo Center Saturday afternoon.
North Carolina State (9-6 overall, 2-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) hosts North Carolina (10-6, 3-1) Saturday. Tipoff for the 248th meeting between the two rival schools is scheduled for 4 p.m.
After dropping games at Virginia and Wake Forest, the Wolfpack edged out Notre Dame at home Wednesday night by a score of 66-65. NC State came back from a late seven-point deficit in that game to defeat the Fighting Irish. Marcus Hill led the team with 15 points in that game, while Jayden Taylor added 14.
UNC has won their last two games, and after a shaky start to their season against a tough schedule, the Tar Heels have won four of their last five. In their last win — a 15-point victory over SMU in Chapel Hill — RJ Davis led all scorers with 26 points, while Ian Jackson and Drake Powell chipped in 18 and 17 points, respectively
NC State next travels to Virginia Tech for a game Wednesday night. UNC will also next play Wednesday night, hosting Cal in Chapel Hill.
