BLACKSBURG, Va. (WNCN) — NC State men’s basketball is looking to bounce back following a narrow loss at home to rival North Carolina on Saturday.
The Wolfpack (9-7 overall, 2-3 Atlantic Coast Conference) hits the road to face the Virginia Tech Hokies (7-9, 2-3) Wednesday night. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. at Cassell Coliseum in Blacksburg.
Saturday’s loss in Raleigh came down to the last few seconds, as UNC’s Jaylen Washington broke a 61-all tie with 24 seconds left and then blocked a Jayden Taylor layup to seal the Tar Heels’ 63-61 win over NC State. Marcus Hill led the Wolfpack with 20 points in the game.
Virginia Tech is coming off a 71-68 win at Cal on Saturday night. Jaydon Young led the Hokies with 14 points off the bench, while Tyler Johnson notched a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
NC State hosts that same Cal team in their next game. The Wolfpack are scheduled to face the Bears Saturday night at the Lenovo Center.
