RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — So far this season, the NC State football team has alternated wins and losses each week. After last Saturday’s loss at home to Wake Forest, the Wolfpack is looking to get back on the winning track.
NC State (3-3 overall, 0-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) is hosting Syracuse (5-1, 1-1) in a Saturday night primetime game. Kickoff at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh is scheduled for 8 p.m.
The Orange topped then-No. 25 UNLV in overtime in Las Vegas last Friday, the team’s second win this season over a Top 25 team after a Week 2 victory over then-No. 23 Georgia Tech. Syracuse’s only loss so far is a narrow two-point defeat at home to Stanford on Sept. 20.
Last week, the Pack dropped a home contest to Wake Forest by a score of 34-30 in the latest dip in a rollercoaster year that has NC State 0-2 to start conference play for the first time since 2015. But they’ve had good history in Raleigh against the Orange, losing just once to Syracuse at home in eight meetings.
Next week, NC State travels out west for the first time in the newly-expanded ACC to face Cal. It will be their last football game of October as they close out the month with a bye week.
