DJ Burns hasn’t had a lot of playing time to work with in Summer League through two games, but not surprisingly, he’s making the most of his time on the floor.
In Cleveland’s 112-81 win over the Bucks on Sunday, Burns scored seven points on 3-5 shooting in a little under 15 minutes of action; he also grabbed five rebounds, with two assists and two steals.

Burns made his debut on Friday, scoring four points on 2-4 shooting in 12 minutes of playing time, with a couple of rebounds as well. Not bad work under the circumstances.
It’d be nice to see him get more minutes, though nobody on the Cavs has gotten a bunch—nobody’s logged more than 24 minutes in their two games, with the team spreading double-digit minutes among 10-11 players. Not the best way to establish a rhythm out there, but obviously these teams want to get a look at as many prospects as possible.
Cleveland will be back at it on Wednesday night at 10 p.m. ET against the Warriors. That game will air on NBA TV.
