NC State did not have a player selected in the second round of the NBA Draft yesterday, which was no surprise. All three guys with pro hoops futures will be playing in Summer League, though.
DJ Burns quickly agreed to a deal with the Cavaliers last night, while DJ Horne signed with San Antonio, and Mohammed Diarra will be playing for the Lakers. They’ll be heading to Las Vegas for the NBA’s annual offseason stop there.
And hopefully all three will get enough playing time to show what they can bring to the table and potentially earn a camp invite down the road. It doesn’t have to be with the teams that have signed them at this point. They’ve got an uphill climb in terms of making a final roster, but you never know with these things.
Best of luck to the guys as they get their pro careers started.
