Ah well nevertheless.
Dave Doeren met with the media on Monday to talk about the Western Carolina win and discuss the matchup with Tennessee, and provided an update on safety Devan Boykin, who he says won’t be able to return to action until sometime in October.
That’s disappointing news, but not surprising given that Boykin is less than nine months removed from a major knee injury. Getting him back this early always felt like a bit of a longshot, and it’s just unfortunate that NC State’s two toughest games happen to be early.
In more positive news, Doeren said that Ja’Had Carter will be ready to go after sitting out the WCU game. No better time to get another veteran back into the fold at defensive back.
The updated depth chart includes no significant changes; only thing I noticed is DK Kaufman sliding in for Noah Rogers on the kickoff return team.
