It’s championship week for women’s basketball and the bracket for the ACC tournament is set. The tourney gets underway on Wednesday, though NC State is through to Friday with a double-bye. Notre Dame, Duke, and FSU also earned a double-bye.
Wake Forest, SMU, and Miami didn’t make the cut this year.
NC State will open play at 1:30 p.m. on Friday afternoon, against the winner of No. 8 Virginia Tech and No. 9 Georgia Tech. Virginia Tech is fighting for its NCAA tournament life, as it is currently hovering right around the bubble cut line.

There’s a decent chance that NC State gets a rematch against UNC in the semifinals, and what a welcome opportunity for revenge that would be. A rematch with Notre Dame in the title game, should State get that far, also has good odds. (Though I wouldn’t be shocked if Louisville made a run on that side of the bracket.)
