NC State nabbed its first offensive line recruit of the 2025 cycle on Sunday with the verbal commitment of top-25 in-state player Michael Gibbs. Gibbs chose NC State over Duke and Virginia Tech, among plenty of others.
This was not an easy decision, I want to thank everyone who has helped me along the way. I am so blessed to be in this position!

He’s listed at 6’4 and 305 pounds by 247Sports, and while he is (not surprisingly) playing tackle in high school, he’s considered an interior offensive line prospect by 247. Seems like a dude who could handle tackle at the next level, though, even if he isn’t quite the ideal height for the gig.
Gibbs is another case where State getting in early helped—the Wolfpack was his first power-conference scholarship offer, and especially with in-state kids, that can mean a lot (see the tail end of the above video).
NC State is up to 12 commitments for 2025, and two-thirds of those have come in the last month. The June is a-Junein’.
