Unlike many previous rounds of conference realignment, the Big 12’s upcoming expansion is playing out in a very public way. Numerous candidates have released statements expressing their desire to join the league, but the school that is being the most aggressive, at least on social media, in pursuing one of the league’s openings is ECU. The Pirates official Twitter account tweeted a statement about joining the Big 12 a few days ago, and today, sent out a map to promote its potential as a travel partner for West Virginia.

ECU seems like a very unlikely candidate, especially when compared to schools like BYU, Cincinnati, and Houston, but you can’t knock the hustle. Well, unless you are in the AAC.
