The mother of Kyle Filipowski’s fiancee has issued a fairly ominous warning regarding the grooming allegations hurled against her daughter.
The whole situation started when ESPN’s Jonathan Givony reported that NBA teams were worried about the seven-year age gap between the former Duke star and his girlfriend, Caitlin Hutchinson, as well as his strained relationship with his family.
It turns out that Caitlin had actually known Filipowski as a child and not too long after, Kyle’s mom alleged that Hutchinson “forced” the second-round pick to cut off his loved ones two years ago and the story has really taken off from there.
Now in a recent interview with the Daily Mail, Hutchinson’s mother, Amanda, said that “There will be things forthcoming.”
Adding, “What we’ve always said to the kids is, for everything that’s good, if you have faith at all there will be adversaries, there’s always a negative for every positive. So it’s how we weather those storms.”
Kyle’s older brother, Daniel, also joined in on the conversation over the weekend.
Tweeting Sunday, “My brother is a victim and was unfortunately a ‘perfect’ pawn and target for this girl’s lifelong scheme based on his human characteristics and growing potential as a high-level prospect which started taking place in 2019, exactly at the time when she began her pursuit of him.”
Hutchinson is rumored to have groomed Filipowski into Mormon culture, adding another dynamic to the wild story.
The Blue Devils All-American was selected by the Utah Jazz with the 32nd pick of the second round.
