DALLAS (WNCN) — Duke men’s basketball is looking to start off 2025 with their eighth win in a row, but they’ll have to do it against a team that is currently also on their own seven-game winning streak
The No. 4 Blue Devils (11-2 overall, 3-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) and SMU Mustangs (11-2, 2-0) are set to face off for the first time as ACC opponents Saturday afternoon. Tipoff at Moody Coliseum in Dallas is set for 2:15 p.m.
Duke last played on New Year’s Eve, topping Virginia Tech 88-65. Cooper Flagg led the Blue Devils with 24 points in that game, while Kon Knueppel and Tyrese Proctor each added 13 points. Duke has not lost a contest since falling to then-No. 1 Kansas by a score of 75-72 on Nov. 26.
The Mustangs have also not lost since November. Their last defeat was an 84-79 loss at home against Mississippi State on Nov. 22. In their last win — a 98-82 victory over Longwood on Dec. 29 — junior guard Boopie Miller led SMU with 24 points and seven assists.
The Blue Devils return home next week for a matchup against Pitt on Tuesday night.
