COLLEGE PARK, Md. (WNCN) — The Duke women’s basketball team has an early test as they face a fellow top 25 opponent in just their third game of the year.
The No. 11 Blue Devils (2-0) and No. 18 Maryland Terrapins (2-0) are set to play Sunday in College Park. Tip off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
Duke has handily won their first two games of the year, scoring a total of 172 points across the contests while allowing opponents to score just 103. In Thursday’s win at Liberty, Ashlon Jackson led the team with 22 points, six assists and three rebounds, while three other players also scored in double digits.
The Terrapins — who were once rivals with Duke when both played in the Atlantic Coast Conference but have not played the Blue Devils since 2015 — have also easily won both games so far this season. In their win over Coppin State on Thursday, Kaylene Smikle led Maryland with 20 points.
The Blue Devils next play Thursday night at home against Dayton.
